What does the barcode do and why should a FreightForm label be used as the first page? Each load delivered is a "trip" and brokers need the documents generated during that trip for invoicing. In order to route the trip documents to the correct broker/participant, the FreightForm EXPRESS label with the participants barcode on it must be scanned. The label can be scanned with the form as is (with the backing in place. When the documents are scanned, TripPak SCANNING reads the barcode from the cover sheet. If there is no barcode or if the barcode is not recognized, an Exceptions window will appear, with icons for the three different services. The fuel desk personnel will have to select the appropriate service (FreightForm EXPRESS), and then select from the drop down list of participants for that driver. Because there is little standardization across the trucking industry regarding documents and envelopes, our system allows you to choose a participant as directed by a driver, but great care must be taken to be sure that the correct participant is selected. What is the maximum number of documents that can be scanned for one driver? There is no maximum page limit. Because carriers use different forms and different documents, a trip transaction may contain just a couple of documents or it may contain over 40 documents. Because the number of documents is not standard, TripPak SCANNING can accommodate any number of documents per trip transaction. It is a good idea to be sure there is a separation of "trips" so that documents associated with one trip are scanned together and any other trip documents are scanned with their appropriate trip separator. Does it matter if I scan the document upside down? Documents should be scanned so that the text of the documents appears on the screen right side up. The reason this is important is because many companies use handwriting recognition software to process documents. However, if the documents are scanned upside down, fuel desk personnel will have the ability to rotate an image after the document has been scanned. The document can be rotated during the transaction review step. Who do I contact if I have any problems with my TripPak SCANNING equipment?
